A Magic Morning on Magic 98.9
BSTQ and Teana KimmyNan introduce Rick and Kimberly to the world of Queens

At the decidedly UN-Queenly hour of 3 a.m. of March 19, BSTQ's alarm buzzed, reminding her that this was the day Upstate radio would learn all about the Sweet Tea Queens. While the Hussy Bus motored towards the studios at Garlington Road in Greenville, STQs from around the state listened in as Magic Mornings hosts Rick and Kimberly teased the audience about their upcoming guests.  As 6 a.m. arrived, the Queens greeted the world with a fun explanation of just what it is that they've been up to and for two hours the world listened slack-jawed to what it is to be a Sweet Tea Queen. Thanks to Magic 98.9 and Rick and Kimberly, more than a few women in the Upstate have discovered their Queenliness!

And then there was "Live at the Beacon"!
May 7th we met up with Rick and Kimberly again as they visited Spartanburg on their Hometown Tour of the Upstate

Parking a humongous RV right in front of The Beacon, BSTQ and Teana Marie were interviewed by Converse College president Dr. Nancy Gray for starters. Later Rick and Kimberly had fun with the pair on the air as the Queens bestowed lavish gifts on their hosts. Kimberly was given a tiara (her first!), and Rick who has a thing for Hawaiian shirts was given a strand of Mardi Gras beads with a Marilyn Monroe emblem at the front.
