Jingle Belles! It's Christmas parade time for Queens

This holiday season holds three parades for us this year. Starting off in Sparkle city, it's the big city parade that never fails to delight. The next day, Cowpens holds it's Christmastime version of the Mighty Moo and new for this year (for us, that is) is the Boiling Springs parade!

Chicken lickin' and zombifiin' fun highlights Southern Culture On The Skids concert

Back at the Handlebar in Greenville for a Halloween hootenanny, Southern Culture On The Skids scared away any trace of a boring night as they played to a very energetic crowd. The Queens flang chicken and go-go danced through several songs. For her first SCOTS concert, The Breeze was in fine form, along with BSTQ. And even Mr. Tea made an appearance with The Malamondos, who opened for SCOTS.

Lake Lure LaLa Queens host fabulous Queenly weekend
And we take home the trophy!

Queens galore and way too much fun-- that describes
the weekend of September 23 and 24th in Lake Lure!
Kinda like a mini Jackson with much more relaxing and
non-stop mimosas. And then came the talent show where
we FINALLY debuted our SCANDALOUS stage show after
YEARS (more like 15 minutes) of preparation. And in the
end, we won the trophy for our hard work and ability
to steal tokens.

Sweet and Delicious! King Apple Parade shines for the STQs
To the delight of many thousands of parade watchers, the Sweet Tea Queens danced atop a spiffed-up C.S.S. Hunny Leigh for Hendersonville's Apple Festival Parade. This event just gets better every year! Attendance was way up and the crowd was very enthusiastic. We met up with two potential STQs and even traded waves with the Lake Lure LaLa Queens.

Gaffney celebrates 29th Peach Festival with the Queens
On a wonderfully cool July morning, the STQs rolled on down Limestone St. at the Peach Festival Parade, listed as one of the top festivals in the Southeast, the Peach Parade folks were every bit as enthusiastic as our first year there.  We were joined by STQ-To-be from the Sweet Potato Queens' messageboard "susieinsc", who hasn't picked out a "Teana" name yet. Seems like we've got newbies at every parade!

Queens moooovin' to the groovin' at the Mighty Moo
It's four years and counting for our participation in the Cowpens Mighty Moo parade. The crowd is as fun as ever, dancing along with the Queens to some of our favorite dance beats. Our newest Queen, Patricia tries it out in "civilian attire", but she's ready to don the green sequins for the rest of the season.

Manmagnet takes it all in, basking in Her Queenly Glory.

Struttin' and shimmyin' around the track proves good luck
It was Friday the thirteenth in May, a beautiful cool night and the music was right for Spartanburg's Relay For Life celebration at Dorman High School. Queen the Breeze, our team captain led BSTQ and Honda Rhonda around loop before the Queens settled in to an evening of dancing and flirting. The Spartanburg Relay For Life raised over $500,000, the largest of any Relay group in the Southeastern U.S.!

Disco and Leprechauns go together!
Right through downtown Charlotte came the Sweet Tea Queens' float with Teana Sue dancing as a parade virgin at the St. Patrick's Day parade on March 12! The crowd was stunned and amazed at the Queens, who were right at the end of the parade as dessert.

Skylyn Place does Fat Tuesday up in style

Skylyn Place nursing home held their second annual Mardi Gras party February 24. Although it was a little later than the New Orleans celebration, it was every bit as fun. The Windjammers provided the jazz, while the STQs provided the spice.

Southern Culture On The Skids helps Queens welcome 2005
With The Handlebar in Greenville as the venue, the STQs celebrated a raucous New Year with SCOTS, our FAVORITE band. Rick and Mary invited us up on stage for "Daddy Was A Preacher, But Mama Was A Go-Go Girl" and we stayed on through "8-Piece Box" and "Banana Pudding". All of y'all just MUST go and get their latest CD today! Click right here.
