Queens help save Chesnee parade
Celebration cancelled by town merchants, so the children do it themselves!

It was a case of the Sweet Tea Queens to the rescue in Chesnee, SC for their Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 15, as the children of Chesnee Elementary School organized their own parade after the local merchants turned Scrooge and cancelled the official event. After they asked us to parade, we discovered that we were one of nearly 100 entries in a parade that was longer than the entire route! The Queens threw pearl beads to bystanders, with the goal of making sure every little girl that they saw got a string.

Ih the photos below, TeanaJerri gets down to the Christmas disco music, TeanaLisa waves in that Queenly way, and Queen Bea spots a potential bead fling-ee.
Teana Jerri and TeanaLisa love-up a lost puppy and Queen Bea's mom and dad, Queen Mum and The Judge watch from the sides.
Queen-In-Training Betsy rides the float in her stunning Royal sweater, while Mr. Tea pulls the extravaganza along.
At the Bantam Chef restaurant,  Queen Bea, TeanaLisa and BSTQ prepare to chow down.

While they boogie-down to the festive sound of the STQ Christmas Holiday Ho-down CD, the Queens fling pearls to the parade watchers.  The children of Chesnee Elementary School organized the parade after town merchants cancelled the official one, saying it was too disruptive. The STQs certainly helped disrupt the place that day!
