Queens help save Chesnee parade
Celebration cancelled by town merchants, so the
children do it themselves!
It was a case of the Sweet Tea Queens
to the rescue in Chesnee, SC for their Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 15,
as the children of Chesnee Elementary School organized their own parade after
the local merchants turned Scrooge and cancelled the official event. After they
asked us to parade, we discovered that we were one of nearly 100 entries in a
parade that was longer than the entire route! The Queens threw pearl beads to
bystanders, with the goal of making sure every little girl that they saw got a
string.

Queenly way, and Queen Bea spots a potential bead fling-ee.

Tea pulls the extravaganza along.

While they boogie-down to the
festive sound of the STQ Christmas Holiday Ho-down CD, the Queens fling
pearls to the parade watchers. The children of Chesnee Elementary
School organized the parade after town merchants cancelled the official
one, saying it was too disruptive. The STQs certainly helped disrupt the
place that day!
